Customer’s Car: Toyota GR Yaris (G16E-GTS)
We recently performed a Hydrogen Carbon Cleaning service on a Toyota GR Yaris right here in Nagano.
Current Odometer: Approx. 33,590 km
Engine Specs: Toyota G16E-GTS / 1,618cc Inline-3 Intercooled Turbo
Performance: 272 ps (200 kW) / 6,500 rpm | 37.7 kg·m (370 N·m) / 3,000–4,600 rpm
This machine is Toyota’s pride—a newly developed, compact, lightweight, high-spec power unit. Featuring the advanced D-4ST (Direct-injection 4-stroke gasoline engine Superior version with Turbo), the GR Yaris is a legend in the WRC and All Japan Rally Championship.
Pre-Event Maintenance for the 2026 GR Yaris Owners Meeting
We completed this service just one day before the "2026 GR Yaris Owners Meeting in Jibusaka Kogen Ski Resort." The goal was a complete engine refresh to ensure long-term performance and reliability.
Since the G16E-GTS uses direct injection, we also focused on preventing future fuel line issues. We combined the hydrogen treatment with our FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER to clean everything from the fuel lines to the injector tips simultaneously.
The Service Process
Fuel System Protection: We added the FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER directly into the fuel tank.
Pre-Check: A thorough inspection of engine noise, vibration, and exhaust flow was conducted.
Hydrogen Gas Injection: We started the hydrogen flow at a conservative 100 ml/h. Monitoring the engine's real-time response, we gradually increased the hydrogen volume to optimize the carbon removal process.

To ensure the FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER circulated thoroughly through the fuel lines, we performed several throttle blips. A quick check of the idling gauge confirmed everything was stable.
5 Minutes In: Placing a hand near the exhaust tip, I began to feel a slight increase in moisture. The exhaust pressure and flow remained consistent and healthy. I began fine-tuning the hydrogen injection volume while monitoring the engine's response.
10 Minutes In: Visible water vapor started emitting from the exhaust—a clear sign that the hydrogen was reacting and the cleaning process was underway.
25 Minutes In: A noticeable change occurred: engine noise and vibrations significantly decreased. At this point, I locked in the hydrogen flow rate to maintain this optimal cleaning state.
45 Minutes In: Checking the exhaust again, the airflow felt much smoother than at the start of the session. I opened the throttle once more to check the idling gauge; the needle now dropped much more fluidly and responsively compared to the initial pre-service check.
50 Minutes In: The moisture at the exhaust tip began to dry up, indicating that the internal cleaning was reaching its peak. I continued the service with final adjustments to the hydrogen levels.
60 Minutes In (Completion): After one hour of treatment, the idling was rock-solid. The engine sound, vibration levels, and exhaust flow were all perfectly stabilized. The service was successfully completed.
