Hydrogen Carbon Cleaning for Honda Shuttle (L15B Engine) in Tokyo

Customer's Car: We recently had the pleasure of performing a Hydrogen Gas Carbon Cleaning on a Honda Shuttle (L15B Engine) from Tokyo!


The vehicle's current mileage is approximately 36,400 km. It is powered by the L15B model—a 1,496cc Direct Injection DOHC i-VTEC engine, which delivers a maximum output of 129 ps (95 kW) at 6,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 15.6 kg·m (153 N·m) at 4,600 rpm.


This service was proudly performed at the [2026 GR Yaris Owners Meeting in Jibusaka Kogen Ski Resort].


The owner requested this engine refresh to ensure the car stays in peak condition for years to come, especially now that the mileage is starting to build up. It’s a smart choice for long-term vehicle maintenance!

After completing our initial checks—including engine noise, vibrations, and exhaust pressure from the muffler—we began preparing for the hydrogen gas injection.

We started the injection at a flow rate of 100 L/h, carefully monitoring the engine's condition as we gradually increased the hydrogen volume.

5 Minutes into the Service: A slightly damp exhaust began to emit from the tailpipe. I placed my hand near the exhaust outlet to check the exhaust pressure, and it felt completely normal. However, there was a slight pulse or unevenness in the exhaust flow. I revved the engine once to check the idling gauge, which showed no issues. We proceeded with the cleaning while monitoring whether this slight exhaust pulse would improve, gradually increasing the hydrogen injection rate while keeping a close eye on the engine's behavior.


10 Minutes into the Service: Water vapor started coming out of the exhaust pipe. We continued the process while finely adjusting the hydrogen gas flow.


20 Minutes into the Service: The engine noise and vibrations began to noticeably settle down. At this point, we locked in the hydrogen injection rate.


40 Minutes into the Service: I revved the engine a few times to assess its response. Checking the exhaust outlet with my hand again, the slight pulse noticed at the beginning was completely gone, and the exhaust was flowing beautifully and smoothly. From here, we made final adjustments to the hydrogen volume as we entered the home stretch.


50 Minutes into the Service: Checking the exhaust outlet, the exhaust felt much drier, indicating that efficient and thorough combustion was successfully taking place inside the engine.


60 Minutes (Full Session Completed): After a full 60 minutes, we confirmed that the engine was idling perfectly, and both the engine sound and the exhaust flow had completely stabilized. With these excellent results, the hydrogen carbon cleaning session was officially complete!
